studio369.ai suite

suite.

four tools that keep the record of one practice: the thinking in diary, the film and the darkroom in lab, the books and the work in edition, the equipment in gear. each one stands on its own, and they're built to know about each other, so where they meet, a thing you record once stays one record.

notes and statements

diary.

the idea

the why behind every series, in your words. notes, statements and the pages you wrote by hand sit together, so the thinking behind the work is there when a show or an open call asks for it.

→ diary

film and darkroom

lab.

the process

every roll, from the receipt to the scan. the shelf, the run, the label and the file name stay linked, so any scan can be traced back to the film it came from.

→ lab

photo book library

edition.

the archive

your photo books, and the other books on your shelf. each one keeps where it came from, what shape it's in and who has it on loan, so the collection reads as a story rather than a pile.

→ edition

cameras and lenses

gear.

the tools

every camera, lens and kit, and who has it when it's out. it's sorted into the groups you already think in, personal, work or rental, so you can see where each piece is.

→ gear

how they connect

take a camera. you add it to gear once, with its serial and what you paid. when you load a roll in lab, it's that same camera you pick, so the roll knows what it went through. and if the camera is one you'd keep for its own sake, it can join the collection without becoming a second record: its repairs and its loans stay with it, kept in gear.

a print works the same way. in lab it carries its making: the negative, the paper, the exposure and the wash. added to the collection, it brings that making with it, read from lab rather than copied, and if the print is your own work, you can issue its certificate from there, numbered and made from the record you already kept.

none of this asks you to work differently. it's the records you'd keep anyway, in four places that answer to each other, behind one sign-in and one front door. you can start with the one you need and add the others when they're useful, and each one you add fills in a little more of the picture.
